About ADAP

Mission Statement
The mission of ADAP is to bring awareness to Weston youth, parents, and the community about substance abuse and to provide education to help Weston youth make healthy choices.

What is ADAP?
The Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program of Weston, Inc. (ADAP) is a 501(c) 3, volunteer organization with representatives from members of the community, Weston PTO's, Weston Youth Services, Police Department, educators, and youth.

ADAP's community awareness, and education programs have included the Youth Leadership Council (YLC), Red Ribbon Week, pre-prom Grim Reaper Day, the Fatal Vision workshop, articles in local papers, the ADAP Website, the ADAP Family Newsletter, town forums, Speaker Series has included nationally known speakers like Dr. Michael Nerney and Dr. Roni Cohen-Sandler.

Providing alternative healthy activities for youth is important to encouraging healthy choices. Popular alcohol and drug-free events sponsored by ADAP have included the Evergreen Ball and Mountain Laurel Dance.

ADAP has been recognized by the State of Connecticut's Governor's Prevention Partnership, the Connecticut Coalition to Stop Underage Drinking, for its initiatives in their prevention efforts regrding the use of alcohol use by youth, educating the community about the risks of substance abuse, and for providing a safe, and healthy environment for their youth. We invite you to learn more, and become a part of our team.
